Please Join us for a focused, one-day session where we will move beyond survival and step into empowerment.
We'll spend the day defining Black Mental Health, tackling the heavy weight of internal and external stigma, and celebrating our true identity. You’ll walk away with practical, culturally-informed strategies and a roadmap built on the three pillars of recovery: Hope, Control, and Opportunity.
This event is organised by the Lewisham Independent Advisory Group.Who are the Lewisham Independent Advisory groupThe Lewisham Independent Advisory Group (Lewisham IAG) originally formed to work directly with the South London and Maudsley Trust (SLaM) to improve the access, outcomes and experiences of the Black community who are overrepresented within their Mental Health services.
We are evolving, and while we continue to work with the Trust, we understand the value and necessity of working within the black community to address Mental Health on a preventative level.'We acknowledge that we as a people need to heal and feel safe enough to challenge the things that contribute to our struggles.
