OwenFest

This year, Owen would have turned 18 a truly significant milestone in any young person’s life. Owen loved music, gigs and being with friends and family so we’ve decided to celebrate this special birthday exactly as Owen would have wanted: with a big festival themed party! Music brings people together and it brought Owen a great sense of relief, happiness and escape at times when he needed it the most. Often he could be found at the front of a crowd on someone's shoulders, singing his heart out. He was always the life and soul of the party!

It is promising to be a great day for all. We’ve lined up some fantastic bands and DJs, with announcements coming very soon. Lawns Farm will be there too, offering food to buy throughout the event to keep everyone well fed, and the Cricket Club will have two bars open to make sure no one goes thirsty. In true Team Jenko style, we will be donating proceeds to our chosen charity which is Jude and the Book Factory. This charity was founded in honour of a remarkable little boy named Jude. His simple idea was to share the joy of reading by leaving his own books for other children to discover. What began as a small act of kindness has grown into an organisation delivering packages of books to children in hospitals and hospices.

Jude was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma the day before his third birthday and sadly died in 2023 at the age of five. Yet his extraordinary legacy lives on through Jude and the Book Factory, an organisation inspired by his love of stories and his wish to bring that joy to others.

If there’s one thing the Team Jenko community does best, it’s showing up and we would love to see you all there in your best festival outfits for Owen. Let’s celebrate our boy in the way he deserves: with music, joy, and a great time together.
