Join OWCA for Monthly Stewardship at the Little Obed Wetland! 🌿
The Little Obed River Wetland Complex, located in Crossville between CoLinx and the Little Obed River, plays a vital role in filtering contaminants from upstream rainwater runoff.
As a stakeholder in the Conservation Easement Agreement established by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2013, the Obed Watershed Community Association (OWCA) helps monitor and preserve this important ecosystem.
👉 Each month, we:
- Remove invasive plants (primarily multiflora rose and privet)
- Pick up trash
- Support native plant growth
- Protect wildlife habitat
A growing beaver colony and nesting aquatic birds make this a unique and rewarding place to serve!

🧤 What to Bring:
- Gloves
- Drinking water & snack
- Sun protection
- Loppers or clippers (if you have them)
✔️ Some tools will be available to share.
⚠️ Good to Know:
- Terrain may be uneven with thorny vegetation
- Long sleeves/pants recommended
- Closed-toed shoes (such as hiking boots)
- Tick protection encouraged (permethrin-treated clothing is helpful)
