About this Event
Description
Looking to build on your horsepacking skills and learn more about moose hunting? Join us for an overnight horsepacking trip this weekend! This two-day trip will help you feel more confident with knot tying, packing, horsemanship and camping with horses. We will also teach you some moose hunting basics such as how to find them, habits, aging antler size, and calling.
Stew and buns will be provided for dinner on Saturday, and blueberry oatmeal and chicken wraps for Sunday breakfast. Please pack your own lunch for Saturday and Sunday and your own snacks. Tents will be provided, but you may need to share with other participants.
There is a group limit of 6 people and 4 horses available. Participants will walk alongside and switch out to make sure everyone gets an opportunity to ride. The horses will carry all of our gear.
Requirements
Must be able to hike on complex terrain for long distances and have an interest in camping and hunting. Must be 16 or older to participate.
