Public Speaking is a form of social anxiety, and it is often cited as the most common fear among people.
In this workshop, we're going to tackle the fear of public speaking at the root. We'll dive deep into why that anxiety shows up, how to reduce it, and how to perform in spite of nervous jitters.
Whether you’re nervous about presentations, clam up at social engagements, or want an overall confidence boost, this workshop has you covered. Expect practical tips, supportive vibes, and plenty of chances to practice speaking in a relaxed environment.
Students will leave with:
- an understanding of the psychological & physical impact of public speaking
- techniques to mitigate nerves in the moment
- practical tips to reduce (or prevent) the jitters in the first place
- perspective shifts to kick anxiety long term

About the instructor:
Tricia Veldman, MS CCC-SLP is a local spoken word poet and professional speech coach with over 9 years of experience helping individuals overcome their deepest fear: public speaking. Having considered herself frustratingly timid for most of her life, Tricia battled her own speaking anxiety and now has the privilege of guiding others to do the same. She gave a TEDx Talk in 2023, shares weekly guidance on her YouTube channel, and recently published her first poetry book.
