An award-winning roots/swing duo from the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, featuring the musical and married partnership of Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell. Their music is imbued with a strong sense of place and the rugged, stunning beauty of the Canadian West.Living on a ranch in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains, it’s inevitable there will be a strong sense of place, and the rhythms of the land. When the couple released their debut album, the resonances were there for all to hear, reflecting the pulse of life in a territory that is dirt-hard, true-grit building and stunningly beautiful. It was a wild ride that took in styles from 40’s Western Swing and Appalachian Old-Time, to cowboy blues.
After years as sought-after session and touring musicians for other artists, the duo have stepped into the spotlight, winning over audiences and critics alike and earning nominations for both a JUNO Award and Canadian Folk Music Awards, and will be flown in for their own headline show at this year’s Celtic Connections festival.
