Class size: 16 students maximum
Prerequisite: F3 or equivalent experience required.

As improvisers, we can play on the outside of the reality that we are creating, tracking the offers and the narrative and thinking in terms of what comes next, OR we can be characters within the reality, whose choices come from what the character knows and experiences. If we are in the ideas of a scene, we tend to be less connected to the location, characters or fellow players. We’re looking for the next idea of the scene to move it along. We may feel pressure to come up with something good, clever, interesting or funny. If we’re inside the reality, the next thing comes naturally. And yet, I believe there are certain times when we need ideas to spark our imagination and enter the reality. In this class, we’ll experience playing both ways and explore the value of both.
We have community standards, a conflict process, and a COVID prevention policy in place. Agreement/acceptance of these policies is required to participate in BATS classes. BATS Improv Class Refund Policy
All class sales are final. In the event we cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment, we’ll refund your tuition in full.
