What happens when a community is given space to tell its own story?
Our Stories is a choral concert presented by Canberra Choral Society as part of the UPSTAGEING Canberra festival. The concert places storytelling at the centre of choral music, bringing together voices across generations to explore memory, identity, belonging, and what it means to be heard.
Directed by Dan Walker, and featuring the Canberra Choral Society choir, soprano Rachel Mink, baritone Alasdair Stretch, and a string quartet with pianoforte, Our Stories is shaped by lived experience and shared voice.
The program moves from stillness and reflection to familiarity, love, and the inner life, inviting audiences to slow down, listen deeply, and recognise something of their own story in the music.
This concert celebrates wisdom, resilience, and the power of making art in life as a vital and contemporary act.
