Guided free flow dance session with live percussion, trumpet and singing to help you tune into your body. Hosted at Akasa Hackney Wick.
About this Event

J. Müller + Amadeusz are back from their travels in India and Asia and hosting Our Sacred Rhythms in Mumbai. Bringing it back to London and hosting at Akasa, Hackney Wick.

This is an experiential class of free flow movement, no experience is neccessary.

Our Sacred Rhythms is a healing space for the dance floor. Through bringing conscious awareness to our movement we can learn to trust ourselves and our bodies, listening to the intuitive voice within. This is a guided dance session (loosely with no strict dance routines) with DJing from J.Muller and live trumpet and percussion from Amadeusz. We start with a meditation that slowly builds into movement and into a faster tempo, closing the session on a slower pace. It is a space for you to really tune in to your body, allowing yourself to be, to feel and to express unapologetically. Everyone is welcome and no dance experience necessary, just connect to your own unique flow.

Music varies from tribal house, afro house to world, funk and jazz. Sounds to help you truly connect with yourself.

Whatever you are going through, come as you are. You may notice some hidden emotions rising to the surface through the session as we crete the space to allow all aspects of ourselves to be seen. All is welcome.

WHAT IS CONSCIOUS DANCE?

Each session is a loosely guided movement meditation to help you connect with your body deeply and allow yourself to feel whatever wishes to reveal itself to you. Please come with an open mind and heart and respect these principles:

  1. Respect other people's space in the room. Dancing with another is welcome but please ask for consent if it is not obvious.
  2. No talking throughout the dance.
  3. This is a sober event, no intoxicants please.
  4. Please stay until the end and all the way through.

See you in the dance.
