Our Health, Our Power: Northside Health Equity & Sickle Cell Summit is a community-centered gathering focused on advancing health equity, elevating lived experiences, and driving meaningful change in North Minneapolis.
With a dedicated focus on sickle cell disease one of the most under-resourced and misunderstood health conditionsthis summit centers the voices, experiences, and needs of individuals and families directly impacted, while addressing broader health disparities affecting our communities.
Hosted by the Mikayla Sarai Foundation, this summit brings together community members, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and advocates to confront inequities, increase awareness, and build pathways toward more equitable care and improved health outcomes.
Through powerful storytelling, informed discussion, and intentional community connection, this event will highlight both the urgency of health inequities and the collective power we have to address them.
This summit also marks a meaningful milestone as we honor Mikayla’s 18th birthday, a reflection of resilience, strength, and lived experience that continues to inspire this work and drive this mission forward.
This is more than a gathering. It is a call to action for our community to lead, advocate, and create lasting, systemic change.
