About this Event
You are invited to join us for this info session on April 4th so you can meet Alyin, know more about the Our Growth Space program and ask any questions.
Our Growth Space is a 8-week Program that will be offered by one of the Wellnes in Action Program grantees, starting April 11th and ending on May 30th.
The Wellness in Action (WiA) program, funded by Alameda County Behavioral Health and developed by CERI (Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants) empowers community leaders to create wellness-centered programs for immigrant, refugee, and indigenous communities in the Bay Area. Through training, mentorship, and support, WiA helps participants develop initiatives that promote mental health, community connection, and healing.
Our Growth Space is a place where you can pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself—a space filled with art, fun activities, healing, and friendship. This is a space where you can show up as your authentic self, feel safe, and find a sense of home.
Whether you need a break from the fast-paced world, are battling inner negative self-talk, or simply want to relax and have fun, this space is for you. If you’re new to this country and searching for your identity or looking for a community that feels like home, you are welcome here.
For those in immigrant communities who want to become more self-expressive and confident, this is a space to grow together. Through creativity and connection, we’ll explore self-love, empowerment, and belonging in a supportive and welcoming community.
About the Facilitator
I’m Aylin, an immigrant and asylum seeker from Burma, an artist, and a community advocate. My journey began in tech, but my passion for storytelling and activism led me to use art as a tool for education, empowerment, and healing. After experiencing the challenges of adapting to a new country, I became deeply committed to creating safe and supportive spaces where others can express themselves, build resilience, and find belonging.
I’d truly appreciate it if you could share this with any community members, organizations, or individuals who might benefit. If you have any recommendations on how to connect with more people, I’d love to hear them!
Come as you are—this space is yours. 💛
