Join us for a special afternoon exhibition celebrating the voices, memories, and creativity of women from Central and Eastern Europe.
About this Event

This exhibition is the culmination of a creative project developed through a series of workshops held between September and January, facilitated by artist Maggie Stick as part of Reimagine Redditch. Throughout these sessions, women came together to explore their cultures, personal stories, and lived experiences of being Slavic women in the UK.

The exhibition showcases personal memories and stories, as well as photographs and visual artworks by participants and Maggie Stick.

Together, these works form a powerful and intimate portrait of identity, belonging, and womanhood — shaped by migration, community, and creativity.

About the artist:
Maggie Stick is an artist with an activist approach from the Polish diaspora. She strives to create spaces where the boundaries between art and social justice become blurred. Maggie explores different ways of working with performance, printmaking, book and zine-making, banners, installation, protest, analogue photography, music, and community work. She believes that art can be a powerful tool for creating positive change. Her work explores themes of identity, migration, displacement, alienation, and self-determination, highlighting issues of poverty, inequality, and systems of oppression.

The exhibition is part of the project Our Cultures, Our Stories, organised by Centrala in partnership with Reimagine Redditch and funded by Arts Council England.

This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
