About this Event
The Westway Trust Transformation Funded, Our Community, Our Voice, started in January. The first session with Leigh Andrews is already a sell-out! This dynamic series of 2-3 hour workshops runs throughout the year, offering monthly evening sessions designed to help you develop key skills, connect with your community, and amplify your voice. It is aimed at North Kensington Residents.
For our second session, KCSC is delighted to host Dr Dave Smith, lecturer, campaigner, author, anti-racist, and accomplished public speaker. Dave (as he prefers) pictured above is a voice always heard, from picket lines to Parliament:

- Speaking in a group, turn-taking, listening
- Preparing for a meeting. Is there something you want to say, or something you want answering?
- Controlling nerves
- Projecting, being heard
- Knowing your audience - tailoring what you say
- Doing a speech (at a public event) - what you need to think about etc.
- Taking questions - how to answer them
- Holding power to account
All are welcome to this series of events; we particularly encourage those from minoritised communities, and lesser-heard voices in the public realm, such as women and working-class people to attend.
