About this Event
The Ottawa Kwanzaa 2024 celebration will include a dynamic showcase of cultural dancers, drumming, singing, music, and authentic African and Caribbean cuisine - entertainment for the entire family. It offers an excellent opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and taste of the Ottawa-Gatineau Black Community.
‘Uniting to Strengthen Family & Community” is based on the first principle of Kwanzaa - UMOJA (Unity) which speaks to the need to develop and sustain a sense of oneness and togetherness as family and community. Further, UMOJA stresses the importance of the African Ubuntu “I AM because WE ARE” ethos. Those powerful words inspire us every day. We believe that everyone in our community is responsible for one another and that by working together we will achieve great things.
