About this Event
OTHER/WORLD is a performance and immersive installation that invites the audience to explore surreal outdoor dreamscapes, blurring the line between fantasy and reality to faithfully recreate the sense of connection to “something more” often associated with the psychedelic experience. The immersive visuals are accompanied by interactive music and dance performances.
This performance is part of an ongoing artistic research process in which Micah Huang is investigating the structure of experience underlying psychedelics’ remarkable healing power. Micah is developing this research at ArtLab throughout the Spring 2026 semester in collaboration with the Music Department, the Mahindra Humanities Center, and the Shelemay Sound Lab.
Please note this is a standing-room event with minimal seating.
This performance is part of ArtsThursdays, a university-wide initiative supported by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA).
Micah Huang is a Harvard graduate student in the Creative Practice and Critical Inquiry (CPCI) program in the Music Department. An interdisciplinary performance artist whose work explores the relationship between community, art, and ritual through lenses including animistic practice and underground music.
OTHER/WORLD is a collaboration between Micah Huang, the Mahindra Humanities Center’s Study of Psychedelics in Society and Culture, and ArtLab. Team members include affiliates of the Shelemay Sound Lab, Harvard Visualization Research and Teaching Lab, and UCSD Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience. Additional support comes from the Harvard University Department of Music, through the Creative Practice and Critical Inquiry (CPCI) Concert and Project Fund.
