Ostara marks the Spring Equinox, the precise moment of balance when day and night are of equal length. In the old ways of the North, this was the "awakening"—the point where the dormant energy of the earth finally breaks through the frost. Named after the Germanic goddess Eostre, representing fertility, the east, and renewal of life.
