Led by flamboyant saxophonist Oscar Lavën, the Elegant Calamity Orchestra drawing together a vibrant collection of all-star musicians from various backgrounds under one roof, drawing influence from early American swing, blues, classical music, french cinema, spiritual jazz and 50’s bar-walking rock and roll saxophone.
Prepare to be swept into a surreal, cinematic world by the Elegant Calamity Orchestra; strings, woodwinds, brass, virtuosic percussionists and a deep-digging rhythm section, combining kaleidoscopic orchestral colours with the dangerous spontaneity of a small group.
