OUT Slam (Orlando's Underground Teens poetry slam) is a once monthly spoken word poetry competition welcoming teens throughout Central Florida to sign up to read original works of poetry, creative writing, rap, or free style for a chance to win cash prizes and amplify their own voices to a wider audience. All ages 12-19 are welcomed on the mic, and all ages of our "big kids" adults and mixed audiences are welcomed as spectators or could even end up judging a competition for us.November's poetry slam theme is "Sounds of Thanksgiving." Come share a talent you're thankful for! Creative writing, short story telling, rap, poetry, even singing or dance. Up to 12 teen competitors will be judged by 3 random members of the audience on a scale 0-10 using the criteria of Content, Creativity, and Performance. This month's winner receives $50 Publix gift card!
We meet at 730pm on the final Tuesday of every month at Grumpy's Underground Lounge in downtown Orlando. 1018 N Mills Ave. Free parking, on-street. Admission is just $5 or all teens Free when they sign up to compete. Please text "In to win" to 407-917-8110 and we'll set you up with the basic rules of the competition. List caps at 12 performers.
