Bio: Dr. Beau A. Nelson, DBH, LCSW, CTP, is Chief Clinical Officer at FHE Health and a nationally recognized speaker. For 25 years as a clinician and leader, he knows all too well the challenges of working in the helping professions and brings real-world insight to supporting therapists in staying effective, engaged, and personally grounded in emotionally demanding work.
About the talk: A fresh and honest conversation about burnout and compassion fatigue in the helping professions. This talk speaks directly to mental health professionals who give so much of themselves every day and may not always notice the quiet toll it takes. Dr. Nelson explores how both burnout and compassion fatigue can develop in those who regularly hold the pain, trauma, and struggles of others. He highlights how awareness and simple, intentional self-care are not extras but essential parts of doing this work well and sustainably. With practical insight and real-world perspective, this session is a reminder that caring for yourself is part of caring for others.
