Origami is a traditional Japanese artform that involves making intricate shapes out of folded paper. Ori means fold and gami means paper. We'll see how many origami folds we can get through during our safari! We'll explore everything from the classic origami crane to things like hearts, boxes, and other birds and animals. ** Attendees who take this workshop along with the WICKED Handmade Paper for Kids class in the morning are welcome to bring a nut-free lunch to enjoy during our break (11:45am-1:30pm).This workshop is beginner-friendly, but kids will need patience and solid fine motor skills. They will go home with a collection of colorful origami pieces to display, along with an understanding of how origami works and a basis for future exploration.
This class is geared toward kids ages 8-13 who can follow basic directions and work with independence. There is an evening class in the evening for teens and adults: Origami Flower Vase.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A WAIVER ON FILE. We will have hard copies avialable on site. Please also refer to our parking and accessibility information.
