š Celebrate 150 Years of the Historic Henry Willis Pipe Organ at St Peterās, East Maitland! š¶The Anglican Parish of East Maitland warmly invites you to St Peterās Church to join us in celebrating a remarkable milestone ā 150 years of our treasured āFatherā Henry Willis pipe organ.
Originally installed in 1876 in our old school building while St Peterās was being rebuilt by the Blackett firm, this magnificent instrument has remained a vital part of worship and celebration for generations. Still in its original condition with minimal modifications, it holds enormous historical and cultural significance ā being the oldest playable Henry Willis organ in Australia, and the second organ from the firm to be shipped to the country out of just eleven.
š¼ 150th Anniversary Organ Recital Series ā 2026
As part of our celebrations, we are delighted to host a series of 10 organ recitals from February to November 2026. These will be held on the last Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM, featuring talented organists from across New South Wales.
