OrchLab
OrchLab is a music project founded on collaboration and inclusivity. Run by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, in partnership with Drake Music, experts in music, technology and disability, OrchLab offers music-making opportunities for disabled adults, through workshops, specially-created accessible instruments and bespoke web activities.
OrchLab Festival Day
Join us for OrchLab Festival Day, a very special musical celebration, at the LPO's home at the Royal Festival Hall on London's Southbank. OrchLab Festival Day will take place on Wednesday 30 November at 11.00am–3.00pm.
At OrchLab Festival Day you will be able to:
- Sing, play, join in and have fun in a relaxed environment
- Meet musicians from the LPO and Drake Music
- Watch the premiere screening of a new OrchLab film featuring our Community Partners
- Hear the full London Philharmonic Orchestra in rehearsal*
- "Have a go" at playing accessible instruments designed by Drake Music for OrchLab
Light refreshments will also be provided.

OrchLab Festival Day is open to disabled adults over the age of 18, and supporting staff member(s) or adult family member(s). No under 18s are permitted. Attendees must pre-book their places – it will not be possible to turn up without a ticket on the day. Further detailed information will be provided to bookers in advance of the event.
If you are not able to join us in person for this event, then part of the day will be available to watch on Zoom. There is a separate ticket option for this.
Reaching the Royal Festival Hall
The Royal Festival Hall is on the Southbank on the River Thames, near Waterloo Station and Embankment station (across the river).
If you are coming as a group in a minibus, there is limited parking available for this, which must be booked in advance. Please indicate on your ticket how you will be travelling to OrchLab Festival Day so we can make sure there is enough space for everyone.
Financial support
This event is free to attend. However, we understand that organisations may find staff or travel costs a barrier to attending.
Your organisation can apply for financial support towards staff or travel costs you would incur to attend OrchLab Festival Day. For this event, you can request to claim up to £100 per staff member to a maximum of two members of staff (i.e. maximum staff financial support available is £200). You can also request to claim back travel costs for your group for coming to / from the event (receipts required). While we will try and accommodate all Financial Support requests, there is a limited fund available, so if we are oversubscribed we may need to turn applications down.
