We're organising five orchard management and pruning workshops over the course of the spring. The locations are:
- Friday 16th January, Truro
- St Ives Community Orchard: Saturday 7th February , St. Ives
- Thursday 12th February, near Newquay
- Friday 13th February, near Liskeard

These workshops are being organised in conjunction with Resilient Orchards. It will be led by expert F4C project officers Meike Weiser and Ben Norwood, and the brilliant Michelle Lawson, of Resilient Orchards who has incredible local knowledge, and has held many successful training sessions.
As well as talks outlining the importance of orchards, their planning and maintenance, there wil be a practical workshop during which you will be able to practice the pruning and management techniques vital to the success of your own orchard. This will include formative and maintenance pruning, the right tool for the right job, pests and diseases and best practice.
- There will be opportunities throughout the day to discuss your application or project proposal on an invididual basis.
- Arrival is at 9.30 for a 10.00 start.
- The workshop will finish at 2pm.
- Tea and coffee will be available, please bring your own packed lunch.
- Please bring appropriate clothing for the weather and wear sturdy waterproof footwear.
- If you have your own gloves, secateurs and pruning knives please bring them with you.
