Ed Storti pioneered the concept of motivational Intervention starting in 1973; with his best selling book, Crisis Intervention : Acting Against Addiction in 1988, a chronicle of his early work in creating a positive moment in the addicts and families life. Many Notable institutions in the Health Care industry have acquired his expertise on implementing symposiums on professional behavior for their staffs and management teams.

His more recent book , The Uninvited Guest – From the Docks to the Doorsteps is a heartfelt memoir chronicling Ed’s transformative journey from the gritty life of a longshoreman to the profound challenges of overcoming a life-changing injury. This book shares how he rebuilt his life, forging a successful career in public speaking, training and dedicating himself to saving lives in the battle against addiction. It’s a testament to resilience, purpose, and the power of turning obstacles into opportunities.
Goals
1. Understand the purpose of intervention toward engaging families and support in the treatment and recovery of loved ones
2. Understand circumstances and strategies which influence intervention outcomes as relating to family and supporters
3. Anticipate the processes necessary for maintaining positive family and support outcomes after intervention and follow-through
