Hop into spring at the Annual Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt! On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Hammond Park will be transformed into an egg-citing adventure zone filled with thousands of colorful eggs, candy, and special prizes. Whether your child is a toddler or a grade-schooler, there’s a hunt designed just for them.
This family-friendly event is hosted by the City of Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks Department and the Optimist Club, ensuring a safe, organized, and high-energy experience for the whole community. Don't forget to bring your own basket and your camera for a special surprise visit from the Easter Bunny!

1. Is registration required in advance?
No pre-registration is required. Registration is done on-site starting at 10:00 AM on the morning of the event. We recommend arriving at the registration table at least 20 minutes before your child's scheduled hunt time.
2. Is there a cost to attend?
The Optimist Easter Egg Hunt is completely FREE for all attendees.
3. What should we bring?
Please bring your own Easter basket or bag to collect eggs. Since the event is outdoors, we also recommend comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
4. What happens if it rains?
In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for the hunt is Saturday, April 25, 2026. Please check the Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks social media pages for real-time weather updates.
5. Can parents help their children?
Parents are welcome to assist the Ages 1–3 group to ensure they have a safe and fun experience. For the older age groups (4–9), we ask that parents stay behind the boundary lines to allow the children to hunt independently.
6. Is parking available?
Parking is available at Hammond Park; however, the lot can fill up quickly during community events. Please consider arriving early or looking for overflow parking in the surrounding area where permitted.
7. Where exactly in the park does the hunt take place?
The event is held at the Hammond Park Athletic Fields, which provide plenty of space for the kids to run and hunt for eggs.
