This week of Training aims to equip students with essential knowledge of health and hygiene, as well as important medical skills. Students will learn to accurately measure blood pressure and vital signs, care for wounds, perform infant resuscitation, and test vision to determine basic eyeglass prescription requirements. The goal of this Training is to prepare students for upcoming outreach programs in other countries, where they will serve as trainers for local workers. These workers will then use the skills acquired during this training to promote evangelism and improve community health.
Optical Training will be April 13-14, with practicum/outreach on the 17th. CHT Training will be April 15-16, with practicum/outreach also on the 17th. Classes are held at CompassionLink, 415 E. Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with lunch provided.
