This Duo Exhibition in Lump Gallery, featuring the works of Genna Sweetnam and Liamel Cohen, brings together opposing practices that collide in a shared emotional terrain. Whereas Genna paints about the complex emotions that drift just beneath our skins, Liamel works with the gritty and the real, painting viscerally about lived experiences.
This exhibition unfolds as a journey of experiencing two sides of the same coin: the immaterial meeting the material, and release meeting resistance.
Standing between these works, we are asked not just to look, but to recognize ourselves. Our fragility, our strength, and the invisible weight we move through the world with every day. Together, a dialogue between what floats within us and what we are forced to carry.
The Opening Reception is on Thursday, March 12th, at 6:30 pm.
