Join us as featured alumni from Prague Summer Nights Young Artist Music Festival bring scenes from this iconic Mozart opera to The Secret Garden at The Rectory!
Having performed this work at the Estates Theater, the opera house Mozart originally premiered it (and conducted!) in the summer of 2023, these distinguished alumni are bringing this opera from it's birthplace to right here in Old Town Alexandria.
About Don Giovanni
Don Giovanni premiered in 1787 and remains one of Mozart's most thrilling creations. It spins the classic tale of the legendary charmer, Don Juan, with a score that's packed with some of Mozart's greatest hits. This opera balances sharp humor with deep drama as it tracks the wild life of the ultimate bad boy. He’s the guy everyone loves to hate—irresistible to women and a rule breaker to the core. But it soon becomes clear: even the charismatic Don Giovanni must face the consequences of his actions.
The concert is presented at 5pm and 6:30pm in the garden of The Rectory on Princess Street.
Tickets are non-refundable.
Please note: Seating will be assigned by the presenters.
This is one of many programs being offered in the 2023-2024 season. Visit our website for information on other concerts, including opera, early music, jazz and show tunes.
