DeNode Foundation is pleased to invite you to the opening of Kashi Rupé — Unfolding, a new exhibition by Belgian artist Nicolas Van Parys, curated by Kristof Vander Cruyssen.
Following his recent residency in Varanasi, India, Nicolas Van Parys presents a new body of work shaped by immersion, encounter and transformation. Influenced by the layered and spiritual atmosphere of the city, his practice evolves from collage toward a more fluid and intuitive approach to painting.
Through collected images, fragments and materials, his work explores the constant transformation of forms — where images dissolve, recompose and remain open to interpretation.
During the residency, the artist also collaborated with students from the Faculty of Visual Arts at Banaras Hindu University, engaging in a shared process of experimentation and visual dialogue. This exchange plays a key role in the development of the works presented in the exhibition.
