Old Economy Village is excited to announce its reopening after the winter season! Beginning April 5th, we welcome visitors to step back in time and explore the rich history of Old Economy's historic 19th-century village. As part of our opening day weekend celebration, we invite our visitors to step into the past and bring history to live by wearing their favorite vintage clothes! Whether you choose to wear a historically-inspired costume or come dressed as a character from the time of the Harmonists, this fun and engaging event offers a unique opportunity to experience the village like never before.
Bring your own period-inspired costume or take part in our on-site dress-up activity. We will have a selection of costumes available for guests to wear, including waistcoats, shawls, aprons and more, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the past and experience life as it was in the 1800s. Whether you choose to wear a full costume or simply accessorize, you'll be transformed into a character from Old Economy Village's vibrant history.
Throughout the day, visitors will have the chance to explore the site while wearing their costumes, check out historic demonstrators, and take part in guided tours where they can learn more about the people and events that shaped Old Economy Village. Staff members will also be dressed in period costumes, adding to the atmosphere and providing an authentic, educational experience.
Photo opportunities will be available throughout the village, so be sure to capture the moment in front of our historic buildings and scenic backdrops. This event is perfect for families, history enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys a bit of fun with their history!
