The Church Arthouse presents "Opening The Gift", an exhibition of paintings created by visual artist, Elizabeth Stannard. Liz is a contemporary mixed media artist who moved to Omaha from New Mexico and has been a resident at The Church since the summer of 2022. “Opening the Gift” is a series of paintings created in response to Liz’s husband’s passing in 2007. Through this body of work, Liz shares her journey of finding new inspiration and meaning to life in the wake of grieving, offering poignant insights on death, rebirth while contemplating cycling energies in nature and spirituality.
Liz’s passion for art and community has enlivened organizational efforts behind @friday2onvinton_omaha and brought focus to development at The Church Arthouse. We look forward to celebrating her vision and hope you can join us!
