“However violent the erasure, traces continue to exist — in air, in water, in light.”TICK TACK presents My People Will Return: In Air, In Water, In Light, a major group exhibition that confronts the afterlives of ethnic cleansing and genocide — in the land, in the body, and in collective memory.
Curated by Zayna Al-Saleh, the exhibition gathers artists whose works move between grief and resistance, loss and resurrection.
Featuring Emily Jacir (Golden Lion, Palestine Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2007), Banksy, Khaled Jarrar (Main Exhibition, Venice Biennale 2024), Jumana Manna (Nordic Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2017; MoMA PS1), Larissa Sansour & Søren Lind (Danish Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2019), Mark Wallinger (Turner Prize 2007), Rosalind Nashashibi (Turner Prize nominee 2017, Documenta 14), Millie Brown, Hamada El Kept & Areej Kaoud (Gaza-born artists whose works speak from within siege and displacement) — with filmed readings by acclaimed Palestinian actor Saleh Bakri (Wajib, The Band’s Visit) and Luca Kamleh Chapman.
In solidarity, a limited edition of miniature sculptures and a print by Banksy will be available, with proceeds donated to a humanitarian fund supporting displaced families in Gaza.
