Ito’s vessels are distinguished by their supple texture, resting naturally and comfortably in the hand, and by their warm, subdued white hue.

Gentleness resides in every form. Some silhouettes open outward with quiet generosity, others taper inward in a soft embrace. The angles of the handles and the subtle play of curves are thoughtfully considered, giving each piece a presence entirely its own — singular, and quietly expressive.

Ito said,

"I have loved making things for as long as I can remember.
In middle school, I was always sewing and wearing clothes I had made myself. I went on to study fashion at a junior college and vocational school.

My journey into ceramics began at the age of twenty, when I encountered a pottery class that would change my path. I found profound joy in creating vessels, and gradually chose to pursue ceramics as my life’s work.

I did not attend a specialized ceramics school. Instead, under the guidance of a teacher I met through independent study, I discovered not only the craft itself, but also the deep pleasure of learning on my own.

I began in a small studio at home, pausing for about four years to focus on raising my children.

In 2011, I established a studio separate from my home. Since then, each day has been devoted to research and steady effort — striving to balance motherhood and ceramics, wrestling lovingly with both clay and children as part of my everyday life."

Ito's ceramic works are the long-time favourite pieces among Kurashi's customers. Her gentle creamy white glaze and textures always bring calmness to our daily life. The moment when you hold her works in hands, you will feel the kind of warmth and stillness in mind and soul.
