LIFT announces Open Studio Session - ChromaflexThe Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) is pleased to announce that we will be welcoming artists to our space for another Open Studio Session. The Open Studio Session will serve as a space for exploration for artists and creatives interested in various aspects of filmmaking. This is an opportunity for members and non-members alike to create together in LIFT’s spaces.

The theme for this session is Chromaflex. This is a photo-chemical technique which allows selectively controlled negative and positive colour and black and white images on a single strip of film. The facilitator Robin Riad will introduce participants to the technique and then leave them to experiment with the process throughout the session.

For the duration of the session LIFT’s Darkroom will be open to participants. Participants are encouraged, but not required to create within the theme and are free to use their time in the studio however they please. We ask that each participant be mindful of others and share the space throughout the session.

The session will be facilitated by artist Robin Riad on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

Note: This is not a workshop therefore, there will be no formal instruction. The facilitator will be available to answer questions and guide participants in an introduction to the technique, but not to teach a specific curriculum.
