Open Studio

The Open Studio at THE ART DEPARTMENT, Paisley, allows interested artists to make use of our creative learning area, to create work at their own pace and leisure.

Facilities and equipment are available based on which activity artists select when booking; but are subject to limitations on quantities and specialisations. Use of specialist equipment or expensive art materials may incur additional charges.

Artists are also welcome to bring their own tools and materials.

The Open Studio is unsupervised, though staff will be available to assist in initial setting up for a brief period.

Artists are asked to be respectful to the needs of others. Artists are responsible for keeping the creative learning area clean, tidy, washing up and cleaning, clearing away used items and returning the space to its original state before the end of the day.

When booking, artists may select one type of activity from the list, which includes Drawing, Painting, Sewing Textiles & Printmaking. Places are limited, and there is a £5 per hour fee. Payment of Hourly fee is made on arrival at the Sales Desk.

· Paint & Ink Rollers

· Printing Screens

· Cartridge Paper in A2, A3, A4 & A5 sizes

· Pastels

· Pencils

· Thread & Textiles

· Sewing Machines

· Stencils

· Weaving looms

Please note there is no glass or ceramic work available.

Use of our electrical equipment will be at your own risk.

Damage to any property will require it to be repaired and/or replaced at your cost.
