About this Event
The Open Minds Project
The Open Minds Project is a small volunteer-run organisation that creates spaces for LGBTQ+ people with Punjabi or South Asian heritage.
These spaces are a place for us LGBTQ+ folk to share our experiences with each other and to build up our resilience against the challenges that we can face.
This Month's Meeting
This month we're bringing art and writing with LGBTQ+ South Asian themes for us to think about and discuss. How much will these experiences be the same as ours?
You don't need to feel nervous about looking at or talking about art. We're all learning together. We hope it'll be a great way for us to think about our lives in new ways.
Who Is This Event For?
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or queer+ people with Punjabi or South Asian heritage. The group welcomes people from all faith backgrounds or no faith background too. The event is in English.
What To Expect?
The event is facilitated and usually starts with some introductions and some small group work. We then have a bigger group discussion.
You're welcome to spend more time listening than speaking and you are not expected to tell us about your sexuality or gender unless you want to.
