Jake built his career on the front lines of cybersecurity as the Founder & CEO of Risk Based Security (acquired by Flashpoint), where he helped organizations understand vulnerabilities, data breaches, and digital risk in an increasingly complex threat landscape. A trusted advisor to businesses and government alike, Jake has briefed the DHS and Pentagon, spoken at global conferences like RSA, Black Hat, and DEF CON, and authored multiple books on information security and risk management. He holds both his BBA and MBA from James Madison University, with a concentration in information security, and maintains top industry certifications including CISSP, CISM, CISA, and CGEIT.

Today, Jake has shifted from building cybersecurity companies to backing the next generation of founders. As Managing Partner at JK2 Heavy Industries, an active angel investor, LP in multiple VC firms, and co-founder of the Dead Meat Society, he now focuses on supporting startups, founders, and unconventional communities doing bold, meaningful work.
