Zarte Blumen, süße Bonbons, brave Mädchen, Schwule mit rosa Winkel im KZ - die Farbe des Herzens.
Sie war historisch nicht immer femininen Welten zugeordnet und dennoch scheint es schwer, abzustreiten, dass wir sie unmittelbar als weich und friedlich wahrnehmen - alles nur Kultur?
Gleichzeitig tritt sie als Trägerin von Widerstand gegen politische Gewalt in Erscheinung, subversiv wie die 'Pussyhats' mit Katzenöhrchen auf den Frauenmärschen gegen Trumps brutale Verächtlichkeit.
Der Open Call von Oberwelt zur Beteiligung an einer thematischen Gruppenausstellung ruft dazu auf, sich künstlerisch auf spannende Weise mit der provozierenden Macht der Ohnmacht auseinanderzusetzen oder sie zu hinterfragen.
Die Ausstellung von 18. September bis 2. Oktober wird aus den Einreichungen, um die wir bis zum 19. Juli bitten, kuratiert.

Pink
Open Call / thematic group exhibition
Delicate flowers, sickly sweets, good girls, gay men with pink triangles in concentration camps – the colour of the heart.
Historically it has not always been associated with the feminine, and yet it seems difficult to deny that we immediately perceive it as soft and peaceful – is that really just cultural?
At the same time, it crops up as a medium of resistance against political violence, taking on a subversive connotation as in the ‘pussyhats’ with cat ears on the women’s marches protesting Trump’s brutal contempt.
Oberwelt’s open call for submissions to a thematic group exhibition invites participants to engage artistically in an exciting way with the provocative power of powerlessness, or call it into question.
The exhibition, from 18 September to 2 October, will be curated from the submissions which we ask for by 19 July.
