Honor the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox with Frederick CUUPS! Our Awakening Light ritual is open to everyone.
This year's ritual will honor the tradition of the blessing of sacred wells and springs at this time of year by blessing the waters of our own region. Participants are invited to bring a small amount of water (1/4 cup or less) from the waters in or near their home (tapwater, nearby streams, lakes, etc).
For families with young children, the kids will be included in the beginning of the ceremony, then follow the Frederick CUUPS Kids coordinators to a child-centered activity. The remainder of the ritual is recommended for ages 12 and up.
A snack and dessert potluck will follow the ritual. Please feel welcome to bring your favorite savory or sweet finger foods to share. Please label any homemade offerings with the ingredients included so those with dietary restrictions can make safe choices.
