Adapted for the stage from Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel by Steven Canny & John NicholsonDirected by Pam Chohan
Performance dates: Tuesday 27th – Saturday 31st January 2026 in the QMT Studio
‘When Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead on his Estate, with a look of terror still etched on his face, and the paw prints of a gigantic hound beside his body, the great detective Sherlock Holmes is summoned from Baker Street, with Dr Watson in tow, to unravel the mysteries surrounding his death and investigate the ancient curse of the Hound of the Baskervilles’
We all know The Hound of the Baskervilles to be a thriller and a little bit scary….. However, this play has been turned into a comedy farce. With minimal props, a few scene changes and utilising mime whilst having lots of fun with Physical Theatre, this play asks forquick wit and equally quick and easy costume changes.
3 energetic, comedic actors are needed for these roles, 2 males and 1 female, with the male actors also playing female characters. Only Dr Watson will be played by a female actor. With 14 characters altogether we’ll have fun playing and fleshing out these characters as a collaborative process. I’m really looking forward to seeing where we can take it.
