About this Event
Ooldea has been a significant meeting place for First Nations people for generations and is where the east and west tracks of the Trans-Australian Railway met on 17 October 1917.
Join us as we welcome historian Tom Gara as he delves into the history of Ooldea.
You’ll learn about the work of amateur anthropologist Daisy Bates and the United Aborigines Mission to the impact the arrival of the Commonwealth Railways had on First Nations people.
After the talk, visit our latest exhibition on display at State Library of South Australia until 26 January 2025.
