About this Event

LoCITY Driving is a TFL & FORS accredited CPC course - essential for companies with FORS Gold accreditation.

This course focuses on minimising the environmental impact of vans and LGVs by reducing emissions through the use of pre-journey planning and vehicle checks, fuel-efficient driving, and alternative fuels.

The 3.5-hour course which is aimed at drivers and transport managers gives attendees the knowledge and skills needed to cut costs and minimise the environmental impact of fleet operations.

The course will cover the following topics:

The relationship between driving style, fuel consumption and environmental impact
How regular maintenance and vehicle checks can cut costs and emissions
Fuel efficient driving techniques
Use of in-vehicle technology to improve fuel economy
Benefits of journey planning Alternative fuels in commercial vehicles

Vulnerable Road Users

This 3.5 hour course is designed to give drivers understanding a person's psychology improves empathy, knowing now how it feels to cycle in busy urban areas will improve your awareness of why vulnerable road users act the way they do and help improve your driving style to prevent conflict.

This training focuses on:

All vulnerable road users and how they interact with busy urban roads
Defensive driving techniques, reducing stress and creating more time and space
Driving skills to improve road safety

To understand and appreciate:

How and why city roads are changing to accommodate active travel, such as walking and cycling

Camera and microphone must be switched on throughout the course.

DVSA’s expectation is that a driver will:

Have their camera switched on at all times
Be situated in a suitable learning environment throughout the course
Remain engaged for the full duration of the course

Driving Licence Check:

All attendees must have their licence on them at the beginning of the course so that licence checks can be carried out. L icence checks will start from 07:00, the course will start at 07:30 prompt, you will not be able to join the course if you arrive later than 07:30 (no refund will be given)
