Cranio-Sacral Therapy
1-year Diploma Course
(available in London, Manchester, and Budapest)
Course Structure:
The complete professional training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy is available in two principal formats. The two formats are identical in content, varying only in timescale.
1 Year Diploma Course
Six 6-day stages spread over a year together with 8 days of clinical practice.
2 Year Diploma Course (weekend format)
Eighteen weekends (six groups of three weekends) spread over two years together with 8 days of clinical practice.
The full training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, both in the 1-Year format and the 2-Year format consists of 44 days, in addition to personal study and private practice, with substantial further support of optional study groups and tutorials.
Study Groups and Tutorials are available throughout the training, providing valuable opportunities for practice, revision, and addressing any queries that may arise. Study Groups take place at the Centre for Cranio-Sacral Therapy approximately every week or fortnight.
Teaching Clinics are an essential, integral, and much appreciated component of the training, so vital for providing students with the experience and confidence to go out into professional practice. They also take place at the Centre for Cranio-Sacral Therapy. Students start their clinical practice after the half way stage of the training.
The courses have a very practical orientation. Each day of the training includes a substantial practical element, during which students practice in pairs with each other and with tutors.
The course also includes lectures and presentations from a variety of tutors, power point presentations, small group discussions, and practising in pairs and in small groups.
There is a ratio of 1 tutor for every 4 or 5 students. Tutors work closely with every student, providing opportunities for substantial feedback and assistance in order to ensure smooth progress through the course, and support wherever it is required. Tutors are available for support and assistance throughout the course at all times, both during training days and between stages or weekends.
The priority of the training is to ensure that all students develop fluent practical skills in order to graduate successfully and to go out into professional practice as capable and confident Cranio-Sacral Therapists.
Theoretical learning is presented through a wide variety of resources - visual, auditory, and many different learning tools - in order to cater for all styles of learning. Tutors will also provide support for academic learning where necessary.
The set texts for the course provide a very clear, thorough, and invaluable presentation of the material for the training, with copious illustrations and photographs covering both anatomy and hand contacts. They consist of the comprehensive volume ‘Cranio-Sacral Integration - Foundation - 2nd edition’ by Thomas Attlee, and ‘Face to Face with the Face’ also by Thomas Attlee. A library of many valuable texts by William Sutherland, Rollin Becker, John Upledger and others is available. There are also substantial course notes.
The training includes a clear approach to practice management, professional and personal development as a therapist, professional handling of treatment responses and an overall holistic perspective on the therapeutic process.
The training also explores the deeper aspects of health and life and the potential for Cranio-Sacral Integration to transform lives – in patients and in practitioners. Graduates often report that attending this course has transformed their life on every level - professional and personal, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Regular practice, study, and background reading are essential, and arrangements are coordinated to enable regular practice, both for those nearby and those travelling from further afield.
A firm foundation in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology is essential for all Cranio-Sacral Therapists. Students who do not have a previous background in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology will need to attend the CCST course in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology (or a suitable equivalent) either before or concurrent with the Cranio-Sacral training.
This course in Cranio-Sacral Integration is intended to be an enjoyable and enlightening experience, not only providing a thorough training in this profoundly effective therapy, but also involving a significant degree of personal development – as a practitioner and as a caring and sensitive individual. We hope that you will find the course highly beneficial and, like many others before you, find this training profoundly transformative.

CCST provides the opportunity to train as a professional Cranio-Sacral Therapist with the most established college of Cranio-Sacral Therapy, leading the field with over 33 years experience of training Cranio-Sacral Therapists in the UK and internationally.

“This course has transformed my life on every level. - professional and personal, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual”
“A truly inspirational journey. Thomas’ teaching is so profound, gentle and so well-balanced between practice and theory that you feel comfortable from the very first moment. The support of the tutors is amazing, each of them bringing something special to the group. I can’t wait to continue my journey in this life-changing course.”
