Join us on Saturday, February 28th, for a captivating one-woman show featuring Dianne Jacoby as she portrays the resilient Florida Cracker, Martha Jane Pacetti. In her down-to-earth style, Martha Jane shares her early struggles living in the primitive Florida of the 1800s.The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at The Waterworks, located at 184 San Marco Ave. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Homeless Coalition. Dianne Jacoby is a historical dramatist known for embodying figures from four centuries. She is also an adjunct professor at Stetson University and coordinates the university's Road Scholar programs.
Through her costumes, speech, stories, and dialect, Dianne brings history to life. On February 28th, she will introduce the audience to Martha Jane Pacetti, who experienced the Indian Wars and the Civil War, encountering notable individuals and going through both tragic and humorous adventures.
Martha Jane will share anecdotes about her brief childhood, her marriage at 14, and the fishing guide business she and her husband operated.
