About this Event
Frederick's own cultural event producers One City, One Sound, who brought the already-legendary Pillars of Frederick show to the community in 2025, have curated a very special evening commemorating the anniversary of June 19, 1865, a federal holiday celebrating the end of slavery and African American freedom, culture, and achievements.
The program will include performances from Tavair Dominque playing the blues, jazz from the Justin Fenn Trio, R&B with Steven Thad & Dorian Housen, Phil Tell Em delivering rock, Rap from Sober & Svrge, and sounds by DJ Baspy. Narration throughout the program will be delivered by Demetrius and Stitch Early , and the evening will culminate with the OCOS Gospel Choir and time for fellowship.
Vendors include food from BK Juices and BBQ and Tech for barbecue with a Jamaican flair, merch from R&B & Books, with the NAACP on hand for information resources.
All-ages, under age 12 free. Beer/wine/malt beverages for ages 21+ with ID will be available for purchase to benefit the Frederick Arts Council's Sky Stage.
