This month’s speak easy theme is “let love be in me.” Inspired by Bell Hook’s text All About Love, we will be exploring how self-love in community is critical to one’s loving practice.
'speak easy', is an open mic and artist showcase elevating the voices of black women, femmes, girls, and non-binary people socialized into girlhood. All are welcome to attend to speak easy but only black womxn and girls can take to the mic.
Curated by exhale collective and presented by the Betti Ono Foundation, one. black woman breathing is an art activation series centering care, affirmation and healing for black womxn and girls through the curation of sacred spaces for artistic exploration. Over 7 months, these activations will alternate between ‘speak easy’ gatherings and creative wellness workshops concentrated on receiving and offering love.

Our mission is to support, connect, and uplift black womxn and girls through gatherings that unite and inspire.
