Once Upon a Time: Retelling the Mythology (Zine-Making Workshop - Glasgow)

Please note: this event will be held in person at Glasgow Zine Library.

Learn about the mythology and storytelling traditions of Indonesia, and how they have a strong connection to society, nature, and conservation, in this interactive zine-making workshop from Glasgow Zine Library's zine-maker in residence Roel.

As part of a commission from 'Connections Through Culture', the zine communities of Indonesia and Scotland are being bridged with a series of workshops, talks and a collaboration on a zine, all led by Roel, produced by Glasgow Zine Library and Edinburgh Zine Library.

All ages welcome, no prior experience or knowledge of zine-making or mythology is required!

Roel is a zinester and children book author based in Tangerang, Indonesia. Her works explores the themes of feminism, reproductive justice, children, and parenting. Roel also creates a platform namely RRR (Rise, Reclaim, Resilience) Collective that aim to raising awareness about gender equality through discussions, art & cultural movement.

There will be 10 attendees maximum, and the event will feature comfort breaks. During this event, participants will be involved in: hands-on making, group discussions, drawing/writing/collaging
