Once Upon a Time in France
An Evening of French Elegance
Music Director: George Maxman
The Chamber Orchestra of New College of Florida invites you to an enchanting evening celebrating the beauty and charm of French music.
The program opens with the dramatic Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah by Saint-Saëns, followed by the graceful and lyrical Havanaise. The refined elegance of Leclair’s Sonata for Two Violins recalls the musical salons of 18th-century France.
Selections from Saint-Saëns’ beloved Carnival of the Animals bring wit and color, while the timeless lyricism of Fauré’s Pavane and Sicilienne offer moments of serene beauty. The program also features “Summer Nights” by Berlioz, the mysterious charm of Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, and concludes with the mesmerizing rhythm of Ravel’s Boléro.
Experience an evening of elegance, lyricism, and French musical charm.
