About this Event
The café... what a profoundly peculiar realm!
The overlapping murmurs, the sudden echoes of laughter, the rich, enveloping scent of coffee hanging in the air... When you sit in absolute solitude within a café near the university grounds, you shut your eyes to the waking world, and you begin to converse with your own soul.
How, I wonder, does one even categorize this play? A sociodrama? A dark comedy? Or perhaps... something else entirely! But in truth, I lay no claim to these labels. I leave its true genre entirely for you to decide.
Yet, alongside all the tangled tales, the wandering melodies, and the impassioned, soulful songs, Café Piano is, to me, nothing but a profound pretext. It is an excuse to stand before the mirror of my own past and ask myself one final time:
Bearing the weight of everything I have lived through since my migration... if the hands of time were to turn back, would I choose this path of departure all over again?
