About this Event
On the Right Foot is a youth-focused initiative removing barriers to participation in track and field by providing lightly worn, high-quality running shoes to high school track athletes and students in need. Led by the African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA) and powered by partnerships with On Running and SweatOff Fitness & Recovery, the initiative ensures young athletes have the tools, confidence, and support to train and compete—starting their season on the right foot.
SweatOff Fitness & Recovery, led by CEO Odessa Kellman, brings a community-centered approach emphasizing movement, recovery, and long-term well-being for young athletes.
This initiative also serves as a lead-up to AAMWA’s Black Men’s Wellness Day, taking place on June 6th at Temple University, where thousands gather for free health screenings, fitness activities, and community connection. By engaging youth early, AAMWA continues to build a culture of prevention, movement, and wellness that extends from adolescence into adulthood.
